As you may know, this is the last required English course for most of you. Math students still have one more year of four-skill content based English courses. They are very lucky indeed to have a study program where English is given a special place. The rest of you can either take Communicative English, Toefl, Writing in English or two-year courses in French, German, Italian, Japanese and Mandarin, once you hace completed all the three first -year English courses.
Did you know about this? Yes, you can take any of those courses right here at our university. You need a pre-registration, though, and permission from your professional studies coordinator in order to take these courses. Positions are filled early as there are too many students who would like to take these extra-plan courses (credits are valid for your GPA but do not count towards graduation)
Again, our main course objective will be reading comprehension but this time we will focus on three areas: the universe, evolution and artificial intelligence. We will be applying some of the skills and knowledge we learned and practice in the previous two courses. Check the evaluation plan in the side bar and start posting your comments, suggestions and concerns in the "comments" area at the end of each blog post.
To get you started writing, please tell us about your expectations in this course, what you would like to improve in your reading, what you would like to learn, if the courses have been at your level so far or if they have been too easy or too difficult. Buenas, considero que gracias a los cursos anteriores he logrado mejorar significativamente mi vocabulario en este idioma, sin embargo me gustaría poder mejorar mi gramática y ampliar mi vocabulario en esta nueva etapa, y sé que puedo logararlo si comienzo a leer libros en inglés con varios grados de dificultad, así como ver películas sin subtítulos, que fue una de las opciones plantadas por otros compañeros. Debo agregar que me agrada el uso de internet como fuente de apoyo en el curso, ya que indica que hay mayor relación entre el alumno y el profesor, lo que permite tener mayor confianza a la hora de plantear dudas respecto a cualquier tema.

I love this area and is a lot more fun if we use interactive methods to learn.
I think that the theme about the universe, evolution and artificial intelligence is very interesting and we can learn plenty. This three areas are full of mistery, theory, hypotesis, investigation, innovation and much imagination. This can move us to million years ago and talk about the our history at the same time that can bring us to the present and show the future.

Sonia: it would be ideal if you could have movies with captions in English, that way you would be practicing several skills simultaneously. Reading short books is always a good choice, especially the type that are called "readers" and which can have a grading scale of difficulty.
Monica: I am happy to have you back in my class. Yes, you are right, the universe is fascinating but it is a bit frustrating that sometimes the more we know, the greater the number of questions that come up. Let´s see what we can learn together about it!!!

Yo pienso que los cursos anteriores me han servido para conocer más vocabulario y aprender a leer mejor en inglés y en español. Considero que los cursos anteriores me han costado un poco pero cada vez trato de mejorar viendo todos mis programas de computadora en inglés. Este curso me parece bastante interesante ya que vamos a tratar un tema que me gusta bastante, el de inteligencia artificial. Y me parece muy agradable esta manera de trabajar por internet ya que la veo más animado y fácil.
Empezaré por ser sincera y en realidad el idioma se me hace un poco complicado en la parte gramatical sobre todo me cuesta un poco entenderlo cuando es hablado, sin embargo me encanta aprender cada dia nuevas palabras y practicar lo poco que se para que no se me olvide. Me parece super interesante este método de aprendizaje online, despierta mucho mas el interes por la materia que es tan importante para nuestra vida como profesionales.

well, I think this two courses hasn't been difficult, but I would like to read faster and improve how getting the main idea because I have some prombles with it yet. I the idea about the use as text THE UNIVERSE, I like to see stars and try to identify the figures on the sky; with this I am going to learn many things about that wonderful space. of the Id-1113 like the evaluation plan because we have 24 per cent in our hands as the vocabulary and homework, that encourage me.
I specially would like to improve my vocubulary because I dont think is very extense and also I´m really loocking foward to learn more about the topics that you selected because i found them very interesting
Me parece muy interesante el programa de este trimestre, ya que siempre me ha llamado la atencion odo esto del universo y la evolucion; ademas pienso que podemos aprender muchisimo vocabulario cientifico, que al ver television o ver peliculas no es facil de aprender o de captar.
Lo que si me dejo un poco con intriga fue el topic de "artificial intelligence, no he oido mucho acerca de esto, y bueno, por lo mismo me gustaria hondar ams en esto =)
A propósito de la temática del curso que recién inicia, estuve investigando en la web y encontré un artículo relacionado con la teoría del big bang, tema del primer texto trabajado en clase, me pareció interesante su contenido, no es muy largo, espero que les sea de utilidad. Yo pienso que este manera de ampliar las clases atra vez de la pagina es muy interesante...En los otros dos trimestres tambien tuve la opotunidad de utilizar este metodo de enzeñanza.
Quisiera prácticar más la parte de de vocabulario, ya que me parece que esa fue mi insuficiencia en tiempos pasados.

For me, this new way to learn the concern terms about the course ID-1113 is more dynamic than the old lessons; only studied through books and guides. The structure's information and style blog is very attractive and really induces the spirit to dedicate the same quantity of time like other subjects, for this example: mathematics or physics.
Thanks to your comments in favor box words to learn better vocabulary, I could carry out it with the hope to be useful. In conclusion, Congratulations!! for this blog!!. It will be appreciated by me and the rest students :)!!
Los temas a tratar en este curso me parecen muy interesantes, especialmente el de El Universo ya que siempre he tenido dudas acerca de su formación y de sus transformaciones desde ese momento, con ID1-113 espero aprender mucho acerca de estos contenidos y a mejorar mi comprensión de textos científicos. En cuanto a ID1-111 y ID1-112 me parece que tienen un nivel muy superior al de la secundaria, ellos me ayudaron a entender mejor textos en ingles, que antes me costaban mucho, gracias a que aprendí vocabulario y técnicas de lectura. No se me ha hecho fácil comprender el ingles hablado, pero cada vez lo entiendo mejor. Me parece muy bueno que podamos expresarnos a través de Internet, ya que podemos aclarar dudas acerca de los temas del curso y así comprenderlos mejor.

Estae trimestre de idd promete ser mas interesante que los anteriores, en especial por e tema del universo es unoi de los temas mas intrgantes y fascinantes al mismo tiempos, adems de estar en continua investigacion.
Por otra parte, es un poco lamentable que solo se eduque al estudiante para la comprension de la lectura y no para su escritura y verbalizacion, en fin espero poder tener tiempo para poder aprender el ingles y lugo poder tomar mi curso de japones como extra plan
Espero en este nuevo trimestre poder obtener todos lo conocimientos necesarios que deba adquirir en la materia! ID113 a juzgar por las primeras clases me parecio super interesante con temas que captan nuestra aetncion y estimulan nuestra curiosidad por saber que hay mas alla... Me parece que esta forma de practicar y recordar lo que vimos los dos trimestres anteriores es muy buena ya que no es que no esten repitiendo lo mismo sino que estamos aplicando lo que ya sabemos con las lecturas .
Ademas me parece que no estamos haciendo lo mismo de simpre que si evaluar por parrafos sino que nos estan exigiendo mas lo que es muy bueno .

Aspiro que en el curso de ID-1113 pueda adquirir muchos conocimientos como lo hice en los cursos anteriores, se que con ejercicios constantes, asistencia a clase y todas las recomedaciones lo voy a lograr. Opino que esta es una excelente forma de comunicación entre compañeros y docente, por eso espero que ese sea un exelente trimestre. Exito a todos y que cada uno lo sepa aprovechar a su manera.

Es la primera vez que veo ingles en la universidad, porque eximi los otros dos cursos, y no tenia idea de como era, pero por lo visto es super interesante y dinamico y me ayudara a ampliar mi conocimiento en lo que a inlgles se refiere.

Gracias a los 2 ingles anteriores, me he podido defender mucho más con este idioma ya que he adquirido mucho más vocabulario. Espero este trimestre se fortalezcan más ya que son muy importates para muchas cosas!!.
