In class this week we mentioned how technology has helped us live longer and this has been more frequently seen in cardiology where certain operations are performed such as the case of pacemakers, bypass open heart surgery and transplants. Little by little more electronic devices might be implanted in our bodies.The image in this post looks really gross/disgusting but something like this might be expected in our future !!! Are there any other changes our body may experience in the future? Can you imagine some?

Es factible que en un futuro puedan desarrollarse nuevos dispositivos que logren suplantar diversas partes del cuerpo. Pero no conseguiremos determinar con exactitud si su funcionamiento será tan óptimo como el de los órganos natos del ser humano. En conclusión, esperemos que la ciencia cumpla sus propósitos a través de los estudios constantes y se den hechos reales de(y usando una terminología muy propia) "hombres semi-biónicos".
Pienso que con el avance de la inteligencia artificial podremos ver algo como en la película el Hombre Bicentenario, en donde la tecnología se había desarrollado tanto que se podían replicar órganos humanos por medio de dispositivos totalmente electrónicos.

Si, yo creo que cada vez va a ser más exagerada la suplantación de partes del cuerpo por dispositivos, o si no, fíjense en go go gadget (la película) qué el personaje está full de dispositivos, y bueno, sé que es una película de ficción, pero hoy en día lo que parecía imposible en los sesenta, como hacer una computadora portátil, ya dejó de ser sorprendente.
yo si creo que cada día van a ir avanzando los dispositivos parala implantación en el cuerpo, pero yo espero que sean con el propósito de ayudar a las personas discapacitadas y no porque sentimos que nuestro brazo es deficiente y entonces lo voy a cambiar por otro más veloz y que pueda realizar multiples funciones. Podrán decir que estoy grave pero eso mismo pasa ahora con la cirugía plastica, algunas mujeres creen ser feas y se quieren parecer a Britney Spears, no sé.
Para mi la inteligancia artificial es facinante mientras los seres humanos sepamos como utilizarla para nuestro beneficio.
Seria muy fino poder tener un pen drive en el dedo, asi nunca se me olvidaria...
Well every day appear new inventions in the field of technology, this branch of science that still has a lot to exploit and even if it appears that have been created great things still can be done much more especially if the goal is to satisfy our needs as human beings , simplify the tasks of everyday life or do we have a better quality of life.
The pendrive in the picture is a very creative idea but is not so surprising, rather it seems to me that robotics has made things more shocking.

Well, first of all, I think that in the future the technology will help us even more than now. We know that in the present, the technology has helped us in several operations to the heart and the brain, it also helped us to replace parts of our body when we don't have such part. Maybe in the future the technology will continue to help us, like in a operation holding the instruments or been part of the procedure, I don't know xD.
When I first saw the image of the thumb-pendrive I thought in the mindchildren that we read in class, I thought in those robots human-like that maybe they could take off parts of their bodies and those parts will be tools to help them or us to do activities in the day. Hahahahaha is only a assumption xD

Bueno yo pienso que la tecnología si seguirá avanzando en estos aspectos para recuperar partes del cuerpo(asi como avanza en lo automotriz o aeroespacial). Incluso actualmente se crean piernas que pueden sustituir a las del ser humano para las personas que no pueden caminar. Y bueno eso se seguirá perfeccionando. Pero igual estoy de acuerdo con Solange, mientras no se aplique a fines caprichosos de las personas seria excelente. Esta tecnología de implantes electrónicos, en mi opinión, deben ser para personas discapacitadas que de verdad lo necesiten, no por gusto de alguien que quiera ser perfecto.
La imagen es un poco impactante pero asi de impactante como se ve asi avanza la tecnologia hoy en dia, he leido que para los pacientes que necesitan algun organo, cuando nascan el cordon umbilical lo van a guardar para en un futuro poder crear cualquier organo de la persona mediante celulas madres del cordon.

A pesar de los grandes avances de la tecnología, y de la tendencia natural al incremento y mejoramiento de los inventos, creo que el desarrollo de miembros artificiales o de algún otro tipo de partes mecánicas u órganos está limitado por el conocimiento detallado del funcionamiento de los mismos. Sin contar las implicaciones éticas que puedan tener en los casos más extremos.

I agree with most of your comments, even Ma. Angélica and the reason why she needs a finger pen drive (lol). Definitely right, these improvements to our bodies should be basically for people with disabilities, not just because they want to, but because they need to.
The ethical aspect of these actions is critical. Nowadays it is very difficult to get a heart transplant, for example, but not a pacemaker. It all depends if our life is in danger or not, and if we have the money, insurance or right connections, unfortunately.

bueno yo creo q en un futuro conviviremos con dispositivos similares a nosotros con organismos tambien paecidos, solo espero q se prueben bien todos esos avances tecnologicos para q posteriormente no surjan tantos problemas cuando la distribucion de dichos aparatos sea masiva
En la actualidad cada día se avanza increiblemene en la tecnología.. Uff esto puede estar representado facilmente en los iPods!! ¿Cuántas generaiones ya hay? es dificil saberlo, se inventan varios modelos al añoo.. Bueno, pero si se espera esto ¿Por qué no podríamos pensar que se van a crear herramientas tecnológicas que logren suplementar ciertas zonas de nuestro cuerpo? =).. No lo sabemos, sólo queda esperar.. Nothing is imposible! =P..

Is very possible that in the future the humans will can make artificial body parts . I remember a movie named "Ghost in the Shell" that is about a hypothetical future , in this movie the protagonist is a cyborg woman that only have a natural part in her body " the brain"
Hooolaaaa!!!!! que comicoos todos los pendrive del linnk!!!!! Personalmente pienso que la tecnología es hoy una de las responsables de que nuestro nivel de vida como seres humanos tenga tan altos niveles, es increible que hasta hoy en dia es posible que una maquina nos mantenga con vida ( en los casos en los que al desconctart la maquina, la persona muerte, conocido tambien como EUTHANASIA), creo que la ciencia seguirá expandiendose infinitamente, pero es importante saber llegar al limite entre la ayuda a las personas y cuando empezamos a desviar el curso normal de la naturaleza.
helloo! I think that those pendrives are really funny! they are really creative, especially the ones with the food and the barbie one! i believe that is impresive how tecnology is advancing. The fact that there's a thumb that saves information is amazing!.. also that you can store not only information, but also music,videos, pictures, etc is great and really usefull.. that's why they have become so popular. I can't imagine what else could be created..
